Plastic Knowledge
“Plastic” has become a part of our
daily living, commonly separated into two catergories, thermo plastic and
thermosetting plastic.
The
key features of thermo plastic can vary the structure of the plastic with
different temperatures. (Plastic can be soften with high temperatures and
harden with low temperatures)
Thermo
plastic is regularly used in injection molding. Due to the feature, IMR applies
the key feature of thermo plastic into their relevant plastic products.
Thermo
plastic can be divided into different types: PE (polyethylene), PP
(Polypropylene), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), PS (polystyrene) and ABS
(acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), and etc. Different types of plastic create
different elements. (E.g. IMR uses ABS in majority of their based.) To ensure
products can maintain at a level of sustainability, it is also considered to
mix with different elements of plastic to harden the material. (E.g. 3C’s
laptop’s plastic is based on mixture of PC + ABS, applies shock proof while PC
plastic can strengthen the sustainability, allows 3C laptop to maintain a high
level of sustainability and tenacity.
In
general, PS & AS contain a small amount of BPA (Bispheno A); BPA is a
compulsory element to manufacture PC (clear plastic), it contains plasticiser
and antioxidant during the manufacture process, which is the reason why
European Union abandoned the plastic. Majority of the children products have
been replaced by Tritan (full name: Tritan copolyester). It was developed by a
US company named Eastman. Tritan copolyester is a new type of Copolyester. It’s
BPA free and contain (contains) well-balanced
different types of natures, which includes: “exceptional quality of
sustainability, easy to process, see through nature, strong tenacity and
temperature resistance.” The quality level of Tritan is above mirror and
stainless steel. As modern society emphasizes environmental friendly and
security purposes, Tritan will be the first option.
Coming
forward with all the material changes and applicability, (E.g. how to apply
different materials and element into a thin surface is always a challenge for
“sentien”.) “sentien” has our own expertise team for element development,
enable to keep pace with time with their development of different injection
molding, if there is any changes of materials would like to know, please call
our hotline to enquire.
Remarks:
the average temperature for Tritan is between minus forty degrees to one
hundred degrees, Tritan will not release any harmful substance even if Tritan
is under high temperature microwave or low-end microwave.
